Meghan Markle Will Guest Edit 'British Vogue' In September

BRITAIN-ROYAL-TROOPING

There's no denying Meghan Markle has an impeccable fashion sense. Even before she became the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan was making a name for herself as one of the most stylish actresses in Hollywood. So it comes as no surprise that British Vogue has recruited the Duchess as a guest editor for their upcoming September issue.

According to Us Weekly, Meghan will take the helm for Vogue's most important edition of the year: the fall fashion issue. The Duchess won't just be a celebrity figure head for the renown publication, either. She'll take a hands-on role in helping bring the highly regarded September issue to life.

“Meghan will be writing an opinion piece of her own as well as bringing a selection of female change-makers on board to write their own personal essays,” a source revealed to Us Weekly.

Though Meghan will appear in new photographs for Vogue, she reportedly does not wish to appear on the cover. Instead she will allow photographers to come inside Frogmore Cottage-the home she shares with Prince Harry and their son Archie-for a low-key photo shoot that will appear inside the magazine.

Meghan is following in her sister-in-law Kate Middleton's footsteps with her decision to guest edit British Vogue. The Duchess of Cambridge was photographed for the cover of the magazine back in June 2016 as part of the collaboration between the magazine and the National Portrait Gallery.

After Kate's cover debuted, a spokesperson for Kate and Prince William released a statement highlighting the fact that the glamorous, fashion photoshoot was a completely new experience for the Duchess of Cambridge. "The Duchess had never taken part in a photoshoot like this before. She hopes that people appreciate the portraits with the sense of relaxed fun with which they were taken," the spokesperson said.

Meghan's experience will, of course, be a little bit different. She's no stranger to glamorous photoshoots thanks to her long career as an actress and lifestyle blogger before marrying Prince Harry. The last high profile cover Meghan shot was for Vanity Fair in 2017. She briefly addressed her relationship with Harry, as well, about two months before they announced their engagement.

“I can tell you that at the end of the day I think it’s really simple,” Meghan said at the time. “We’re two people who are really happy and in love. We were very quietly dating for about six months before it became news, and I was working during that whole time, and the only thing that changed was people’s perception. Nothing about me changed. I’m still the same person that I am, and I’ve never defined myself by my relationship.”

Though Meghan spoke candidly about her relationship to Vanity Fair, it's unlikely she will open up in the same way for Vogue. It's expected she'll focus on the causes close to her heart, such as women's empowerment. Is it September yet?
