Britney Spears' Former Director Reads Worrying Note About Conservatorship

Britney Spears' former director Andrew Gallery has gone public with a tragic letter that the pop titan allegedly wrote about her long-standing conservatorship under the reigns of her father, Jamie Spears.

On Friday (July 10), Gallery took to TikTok to share his experience with the megastar and read the lengthy letter. "I've been seeing all this stuff about the #FreeBritney movement, and I feel compelled to say something about this now. I used to work with Britney back in 2008, ’09 during her comeback," Gallery, a collaborator on her 2008 MTV documentary, Britney: For the Record, explained. "In that time, we became close friends. We were on tour together, spent every day together for, you know, a while. And in that time, she gave me a letter that she wanted me to read to you guys."

Gallery went on to reveal that Spears' conservators "destroyed" the handwritten letter, which was originally leaked via Daily Mail in 2019, but he managed to make a copy of it beforehand. The note sees Spears refers to herself in third person, presumably to avoid legal repercussions, and, most notably, declare that her conservators have used her children, Sean Preston and Jayden James, to keep her quiet.

"No one knows the truth. Her behavior when her children got taken away b/c of her locking herself in the bathroom is understandable considering her friend at the door kept telling her the cops are leaving don’t worry stay in the bathroom," Gallery reads in the video in reference to the moment that led to Spears’ 2008 hospitalization, where the singer reportedly locked herself and the children in the bathroom. "She was lied to and set up. Her children were taken away and she did spin out of control which any mother would in those circumstances."

Later on, Spears goes into detail about the conservatorship, admitting that she "has no rights" and that the conservatorship will go on "as long as the people are getting paid." "Britney given her brother a 2 million dollar apartment - her mother a 4 million estate in Louisiana - and her father the best job in showbusiness,” she concludes. “She is a very giving person and would love to get the respect she deserves.”
