Max B had an inspiring conversation with Young Thug while he patiently awaits his release from prison.

On Monday, January 27, the Wave God posted a clip of his phone call with the Atlanta rapper to his Instagram Story. In the clip, you can hear Max on the phone with Thugger as they talk about his highly-anticipated release. After he hypes up the end of his prison bid, Max appears to allude to a potential collaboration with Thug after he gets out.

“Man, I’m in here grinding this s**t out," Max said. "Hell yeah, we ’bout to hit the home stretch, baby... Wassup? We gon’ make some history?”

Max B has been counting down the days to his release for years. In December, the Harlem native posted an official countdown set for 10 months, which aligns with his scheduled release date. The 46-year-old artist was originally sentenced to 75 years in 2009 after he was convicted of murder and armed robbery. In 2016, a state Superior Court judge vacated Max B's conviction due to a conflict of interest involving one of the rapper's former defense attorneys. The opportunity allowed the rapper to plead guilty to one count of aggravated manslaughter. Afterward, the judge sentenced him to 20 years with time served, which cleared the way for his freedom in 2025.

The conversation with Thug went down a couple of months after the "Go Crazy" rapper was freed from jail following the conclusion of the YSL RICO trial. He's one of several artists who have been in touch with Max in recent months including French Montana and Tru Life.
