A$AP Rocky Shares Fresh Update On Upcoming Album: 'I Just Want To Drop It'

A$AP Rocky is sick of giving updates about his long-awaited album. At this point, he just wants to drop it already — and his fans feel the same.

In an interview GQ published on Friday, February 28, the Harlem native opened up about the status of his anticipated album Don't Be Dumb. He confirmed the album is finished, but hasn't revealed when it will finally arrive.

“The album's done,” he said. “I just want to drop it. I don't want to keep saying what I'm going to do and I want to give people what I've been promising them for a long-ass f**king time.”

“I'm in the mixing and mastering realm of it, but I think quite frankly, people are tired of hearing about updates about the album,” he added. “They’re just ready to get this s**t, you know what I'm saying? I don't think anybody wants to hear where I'm at with it, how far is it along and all that. They just want to hear some s**t just to see where I'm at, and I promise I got some new s**t in store. I'm challenging myself. It's like anything, I approach it with a different tactic, degree, or finesse.”

A$AP Rocky announced the album's intended release date last summer during AWGE's first-ever fashion show. At the time, Rocky planned to release it on August 30 and shared the first single "Highjack" featuring Jessica Pratt. He also dropped the music video for "Tailor Swif," which received a Grammy nomination for Best Music Video. However, the date came and went without an album. Rocky eventually announced that the album was pushed back, but has yet to confirm a release date.
