For those who may or may not know, I am a proud team member with the El Paso Chihuahuas! This is my 3rd year and 4th season with the team. My role with the team is focused on hospitality sales and military sales, but I do it all!
Baseball is a lot like radio. Most think the work is easy. You know, we get to watch baseball all day and wear shorts. Or, I get to sit at the station and listen to all my favorite songs and talk about Kim Kardashian all day. Although some of that is true, not many understand the hustle. The hard work that goes into creating lifelong memories. The work it takes to plan a show, the work it takes to be current. The work that it takes to ensure the safety of our guests and the planning that goes into 71 home games.
Yes, in baseball it is 71 games that you must be present for. 71 games of late nights and early days. 71 games to make someone smile. 71 games to make someones year.
In radio, it's year round. On call. All the time. Constantly researching. Constantly on your phone getting the latest in local and not. Always being "on." Always being "your girl, Monica Castillo." It's the opportunity to make someone's day. The opportunity to make you smile. The opportunity to create friendships. The opportunity to be part of your everyday.
I work in baseball. I work in radio. Both are the best decisions I could have ever made. I am blessed to be able to make a difference in someone's life. I have the opportunity to help make ideas come to life.
This is my story! Thank you for being a part of it!
Love, Monica Castillo
